| Growing
up watching my next-door
neighbor race his dirt
modified at East
Windsor and Flemington
Speedways in New
Jersey, I would sit in
the stands watching the
races through binoculars.
I would pretend it was a
camera and I was filming
the race. Sure wish I had
that footage! For
Christmas in 1990 my
mother gave me a camcorder
and I used it or the first
time at the Copper
World Classic at PIR
in Phoenix. It’s
been on my shoulder ever
since! Here are a few of
the things I’ve done
since then. It’s been a
wild ride!!
|
1992
– 1994
With
a yellow ribbon hanging
from my bumper I
primarily worked with Bob
Burbach’s Checkered
Flag Motorsports
Television shooting
the weekly races at Twin
Cites Speedway in Marysville
and Grass Valley
Speedway in northern
California.
Forming “Northern
California Raceway
Video” I branched
out on my own shooting
whatever races I could
find. During that period
I also shot races with Grove
Hill’s Quality Race
Video, Dean Mills' Video
Productions and Greg
Stephens' Motorsports
Video.
|
1995
– 1996
Moved to southern California
and became the Official
Videographer for Bakersfield
Speedway and changed
the name to “California
Raceway Video”
|
1996
– 1998
I
became the Official
Videographer for USAC’s
Western States Series |
|
1998
– 2002
I was offered the job of
my dreams, traveling the
mid-west with the All
Star Circuit of
Champions as their Official
Videographer. Moving
to Findlay Ohio,
I changed the name yet
again to “All Star
Raceway Video”. We
averaged well over 100
races a year during that
period, also covering
many USAC, NAMARS,
World of Outlaw and
local races. In August
we did 28 races in 31
days!
|
|
2003
Took
a year off (see above)
|
2004
– Present
I
moved back to California
and became the Official
Videographer for the
newly formed USAC/CRA
Sprint Car Series.
Finally getting smart, I
changed the name to
simply “Raceway
Video” (although Scott
Daloisio would argue
with that!).

Television
The first clip I ever
got on TV was an Indy
Car crash at PIR
in 1992. ESPN was
there televising the
race but missed part of
a big crash coming out
of turn 4. They used my
footage of it on that
week’s episode of “Speedweek”
Since then we have had
footage aired almost
every week on racing
news shows like
“Race Day” “On Pit
Road” “Speed News”
and “RPM
2Night”. Raceway Video
footage is also popular
on realty TV
shows like “Real
TV”, “Worlds Most
Amazing Video’s” and
“You
Gotta See This. |
|
In
2001 and 2002 we
produced a TV
show call “Dirt
Zone” that aired
for 75 weeks on a FOX
affiliate out of Toledo
Ohio. |
